France: Euro destined to be EU's common currency — Juncker

EU Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker called for all EU countries to adopt the Euro and join the Schengen Agreement, in Strasbourg, on Wednesday. Juncker stated, «The Euro is destined to be the common currency of the entire European Union.» stressing it should not be the currency of select countries. He noted, «All except two member states are duty bound to join the Euro area as soon as... Еще they have met the conditions. For that to be possible these member states need the support of a euro accession instrument.» The EU Commission President continued stating that countries including Romania and Bulgaria should join the Schengen area, adding that Croatia should also join, once it has fulfilled the required criteria. Regarding Brexit Junker said that although it will be a «very sad and tragic moment» when the UK leaves Europe on March 29th 2019, he stressed the EU «will keep moving on because Brexit isn't everything, it is not the future of Europe.»
