Footballer on fire! Smouha SC's Talaat stays healthy with far-out fire treatment

As the Egyptian Premier League has been suspended due to coronavirus measures until mid-May, Smouha SC footballer Mohamed Talaat has been preparing himself for its return whilst strengthening his immune system to protect himself from getting COVID-19 and other diseases in an unusual way. Footage from Sunday shows the winger receiving a treatment involving cabbage, alcohol, and some large flames... Еще in a massage parlor in Cairo. Talaat, who earlier in his career played for Egypt's biggest club Al-Ahly, is one of many players receiving the treatment, which aims at «strengthening the immune system and preparing themselves for the return to sports at any time without any health or physical problems,» claimed massage therapist Safwat Sidky. The treatment not only helps the footballer stay physically prepared for the restart of the football season, but it can also «expel the flu from the chest and stomach, stimulate blood circulation, expand the airways, and strengthen the immune system. This is the most important thing required in the event of a virus,» explained Sidky. «During the session and for the first time I saw a fire on my body, I was worried, but I wanted to experiment and find out how I could benefit from it, and after that, I felt my muscles becoming more comfortable so I was very pleased,» said Talaat. Egypt has registered 6,465 confirmed cases of coronavirus and 429 deaths, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University.
