Fierce hot dog eating competition marks 4th of July in New York

The 4th of July was traditionally marked by Nathan's Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest on Coney Island in New York on Thursday, with contestants devouring dozens of hot dogs in just 10 minutes. Joey Chestnut, American competitive eater, who is ranked number one in the world by Major League Eating, won the contest, though failing to beat his own last year's record, eating 71 hot dogs comparing to 74... The female part of the contest was won by competitive eater Miki Sudo, who managed to eat 31 hot dogs, winning the championship six times in a row.
