Drone footage filmed on Thursday captured the massive abandoned Soviet-built Herouni Mirror Radio telescope high up in the Armenian mountains.
Located at some 1,700 metres (5,500 feet) above sea level near the town of Orgov, the giant antenna was built between 1981-1985 but it fell into disrepair after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
Named Soviet physician Paris Herouni, the antenna was once... Еще thought to be of the most powerful radio telescopes in the world.
Around the massive antenna lie other abandoned buildings once used for radio measurements research.
The National Institute of Metrology of Armenia, to which the telescope now belongs, is currently looking for an investor to restore the complex.
