Ethiopia: 'Pure propaganda' — Lavrov on allegations of Russian involvement in Skripal poisoning

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov called the allegations of Russia's involvement in the poisoning of its former intelligence officer Sergei Skripal «pure propaganda» adding that «we have not heard a single certain fact,» at a joint press-conference alongside the Chairperson of the African Union Commission Moussa Faki Mahamat in Addis Ababa, Friday. «We are just watching TV coverage where... Еще your colleagues with very serious faces and with pathos claim that if it is Russia [involved] then such a reaction will follow that Russia will remember forever. It is not serious. This is again pure propaganda and pure hysteria escalation,» added Lavrov. Talking about the Skripal case, Sergei Lavrov rebuked the UK's approach in dealing with the poisoning of the former FSB agent Alexander Litvinenko in 2006, «We proposed our assistance, cooperation since a number of issues regarded Russia, but the British justice deemed itself to be above it all.» Concluding the press-conference, Russia's foreign minister welcomed the arrangement of a USA-North Korea meeting saying that it is a «step being taken in a right direction.»
