Palestinian Foreign Minister Riyad al-Maliki said it was clear the United states had «declared war on the Palestinian people,» during an Arab League meeting discussing the new US stance on Israeli settlements in Cairo on Monday.
«It is quite clear that the American administration has fully adopted the Israeli position and declared war on the Palestinian people, its capabilities and legitimate... Еще rights, and therefore we see this step as a part of a war declared by the Trump administration against the Palestinian people,» he said. «There is a failure of the High Contracting Parties to the Geneva Convention to do their part in holding Israel accountable.»
Jordan's Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi said «in order to protect the international community's safety and to defend its laws and principles» the international community had to take a «more subdued position to address this Israeli aggression, to uphold the illegality of the settlements and the absurdity of occupation.»
«I wish to reiterate Egypt's firm position by continuing to support the Palestinian brothers in their endeavour to establish a geographically connected and viable Palestinian State on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital,» said Egypt's Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry.
On Monday 18 November US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo announced that US President Donald Trump's administration no longer recognises Israeli settlements as «inconsistent with international law.»
