Major General Ahmed Al-Mismari, the military spokesperson for the Libyan National Army (LNA), held a press conference in Cairo on Sunday, to unveil developments on the situation in Libya.
Al-Mismari confirmed that LNA forces were countering attacks by armed militias seeking to violate the truce, and revealed that intense airstrikes were carried out on Saturday over the area of Misrata.
The... Еще military spokesperson also claimed that radar stations and missile units were installed at Misrata Airport by Turkish forces, and were hit by LNA as considered a 'breach' of the armistice.
Libya has been torn in two since fighting between the LNA of Commander Khalifa Haftar, which controls much of the country's east and parts of the south, and the UN-backed Government of National Accord (GNA) have been disputing the control of the country. Last April the LNA lanuched an offensive to gain control of Tripoli from the GNA that eventually settled into a stalemate. At the Berlin conference on January 19, world leaders agreed on upholding a UN arms embargo and implementing a ceasefire in Libya.
