Footage filmed on Tuesday shows banners and posters plastered across Cairo, ahead of Egypt's proposed referendum on significant constitutional amendments.
The proposals, which were initiated by the 'Support Egypt' pro-government parliamentary bloc, have divided the country.
One resident said that the 'yes' vote would allow Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi «to complete the political... Еще process and the projects that [he] began.»
Another resident seemed skeptical about the proposals, saying that the constitutional amendments «won't add anything new.»
If passed, the amendments would extend the presidential term from four to six years and give the president more control over the judiciary, allowing Sisi to stay in power until 2034.
The date of the referendum is yet to be announced.
