In the photographs, Sisi and Haftar are also seen flanked by the head of the General Intelligence Directorate (GID) Abbas Kamel.
The meeting took place against the backdrop of an escalation in fighting... Еще around the capital city Tripoli, with the LNA attempting to establish control over it.
Over 10,000 Tripoli residents have so far been displaced due to the ongoing clashes, according to the UN Office for the Co-ordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA).
Since the toppling of Muammar Gaddafi, Libya has been in a state of civil war. Power is split between the UN-backed Government of National Accord (GNA) in Tripoli and the Tobruk government — supported by LNA chief Haftar — in the country's east.
