Initial claims dropped by 15 thousand during the week ending October 7 whereas the continuing claims went down by 32 thousand during the week ending September 30. Philadelphia Fed Manufacturing Index for October is out at the same time. The September Index surprised on the upside, hitting a 4 month high. US Leading Index for September comes at 2. The Index grew at a solid pace in August, although the report noted it did not yet show the full impact of the hurricanes. And there's a break in the schedule until 2 AM when New Zealand Credit Card Spending for September is released. Spending continued growing in August, although the pace was the slowest in 7 months.
