The traditional diving event, in which competitors jump from Stari Most (the Old Bridge) in Mostar, was held on Sunday for the 452nd time. 40 competitors participated in the event, diving from the 28-meter-high bridge, which is a UNESCO monument. The competition consisted of two disciplines: jumps on head and on legs. The youngest competitor, 16-year-old Emil Petrovic, summed up the event... Еще: «In my opinion, this is very important tradition. I think that every young man of my age should free himself from fear and jump from the Old Bridge. I'm afraid that the tradition will come to an end and that we will be left without jumps, if new generations do not follow it.» «It's getting harder for me each year, so every new victory is more precious. If I win this year, next year will probably be my final jumping year,» shared his emotions another competitor, called Lawrence Listo, before being honoured as the best head jumper for the 12th time in a row. The Old Bridge diving competition has been held since the bridge's construction, with the first jump dating back to 1664. The contest was formalised in 1968 and has been held every summer since.
