Czech Republic: Music industry workers decry COVID-19 restrictions in Prague

Dozens of Czech music industry workers gathered in Prague's Old Town Square on Monday evening to decry the state's coronavirus restrictions affecting the artists and the business. According to participants of the so-called 'For Live Music' event the music business is currently running at only 15 per cent of its regular capacity due to the limitations imposed by the government to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. «It is critical, and we need some support for musicians, for clubs, for music festivals, for orchestras and for all the others, for technical professions,» said protester Alexandr Smutny. The activists wrote an open letter to the Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babis and began collecting signatures for the petition calling the government to relax the sanitary measures.
