Billionaire businessman and leader of the ANO ('Yes') party Andrej Babis addressed journalists in Prague, Saturday, as early results of the Czech Republic's parliamentary elections came in projecting a solid lead of 29,66 percent for the party.
«We are pro- Europe,» Babis proclaimed, adding, «I am ready to fight for our interests in Brussels and enforce our interests there. Because we have to... Еще fight for ourselves.»
Babis went on to add that the EU «needs to think about why Great Britain left the EU.»
Babis is expected to be called by Czech President Milos Zeman to form a new cabinet. Earlier this year, he resigned from his post as economy minister amid fraud allegations.
Voter turnout in the Czech parliamentary elections reached 60,8 percent. Following the ANO party, the Civic Democratic Party (ODS) is projected to come in second with 11,31 %, while the Czech Social Democratic Party of the current Prime Minister Bohuslav Sobotka, experienced a huge lose with 7,28% of votes.
