A British woman accused of filing false gang-rape allegations against 12 Israeli teenagers was remanded in custody for eight days, after she had her first court hearing at the Famagusta District Court in Paralimni in southeast Cyprus on Tuesday.
''The case was due today for the purpose of the defendant pleading to the charges, we have requested a brief adjournment so that we can collect all the... Еще evidence,» lawyer Andreas Pittadjis told press.
«On the 7th of August she will plead to the charges most likely so it's up to her,» added the lawyer.
The 19-year-old woman had initially claimed that she was gang-raped by 12 teenage boys at the hotel where she was staying in the resort of Ayia Napa on July 17. Following the claims, all 12 had initially been detained, but then released last week, after the she changed her testimony.
