A cute lion cub was discovered inside a box at a postal sorting office in the northern city of Tijuana.
Footage of the baby-sized predator was released by the Guardia Nacional de Mexico on Friday.
During a random inspection, a police sniffer dog reportedly signalled to a wooden crate with air holes. Upon opening the lid of the box, the officers were shocked to find a lion cub.
In the video, the... Еще feline is heard growling.
The cub was eventually seized by authorities and transferred to a zoo, while its legal status is determined.
The sale of lions is tightly controlled by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora (CITES).
