Cuba: North Korea, Cuba strengthen ties as USA tensions persist

Cuban President Raul Castro met with visiting Democratic People’s Republic of Korea Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho, in Havana on Friday. Castro received Ri at the presidential palace where they talked about the historic ties of friendship between both nations, as well as other international issues of mutual interest. Last Wednesday, Rodriguez met with Ri at the foreign ministry headquarters in the Cuban capital where they vowed to strengthen ties amid political tensions with Washington and “imperial threats” that aggravate the situation on the Korean peninsula. Ri’s visit comes during a period that both Cuba and the DPRK are facing political tensions with the US.
