Voters headed to the polls in Zagreb on Sunday, as Croatia's parliamentary election got underway.
According to opinion polls the two main parties, the ruling centre-right Croatian Democratic Union (HDZ) and the centre-left Social Democratic Party (SDP), are neck and neck, as are the electoral alliances they are members of.
Polls suggest the newly created far right Homeland Movement, formed by folk singer Miroslav Skoro, could play an important role in the formation of a new government, after they polled third. It is expected that the party could win at least 15 seats.
The polls opened at 7:00 (5:00 GMT) this morning and will be open until 19:00 (17:00 GMT) this evening. The Croatian election commission has suggested voters use facemasks, gloves and bring their own pens, due to the coronavirus outbreak.
