Joint military exercises involving forces from the United States Army South and the Colombian military kicked off in Tolemaida on Sunday.
Footage shows Colombian Military Forces Commander Luis Fernando Navarro and Commanding General of US Army South Daniel R. Walrath at a meeting to explain the joint drills, as well as soldiers from both countries taking part in a parachuting exercise.
«Today's... Еще exercises are a continuation of the very long steady relationship between the US and Colombian Armies, and it represents, I think, several things,» Walrath said. «First, it illustrates the United States Army's unity with our top strategic partner in the Latin America region. Together we win. Second, this exercise demonstrates our ability to train together on short notice and further builds our readiness to work together to meet any challenge in our region.»
The joint drills follow a visit to the South American country by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo during the third Hemispheric Ministerial Conference for the Fight Against Terrorism, and are expected to last until January 29th.
