Tens of thousands of people were ordered to evacuate their homes near the municipality of Ituango in the northwest of Colombia on Wednesday, following warnings of further flooding of the Cauca river. As of yet, no deaths or missing people have been reported. On Saturday night, over 200 families were evacuated when the Cauca burst its banks after a blocked tunnel of the Hidroituango hydroelectric... Еще dam was cleared. Reportedly, the flooding has demolished 63 houses, a clinic, two schools and two bridges, and has left an estimated 600 people homeless. The Hidroituango dam is Colombia's largest hydroelectric dam project. It was in the last phase of construction before the floods hit.
