A student protest in the University District of Bogota turned violent on Tuesday and led to clashes with the police.
Students were reportedly demonstrating peacefully before the situation escalated with the subsequent clashes forcing the evacuation of several facilities and the cancellation of lessons for the next day. In addition, the protests led to road closures all across the area.

Duque reportedly refused to meet with the leaders in their preferred location in the city, due to an alleged plot by militants to attempt to assassinate him, and after a compromise meeting place couldn't be agreed upon.
Thousands of protesters, largely members of Colombia's indigenous community, have been demonstrating in the country's south west in recent weeks, as they demand that the government respect legal agreements to protect their land and sovereignty rights.
