The ongoing environmental disaster in the Colombian city of Barrancabermeja is captured in this drone footage on Wednesday showing black crude still spewing some three weeks on. Reports say that 24,000 barrels of black crude have spread over 24 kilometres, killing more than 2,400 fish, birds and reptiles. “We, fishermen, as legal fishermen of the Sogamozo River are very affected by the... Еще situation of the oil that is leaking down in this sector,” said fisherman Juaquin Villalobos. Earlier in the week, the National Agency of Environmental Licenses (ANLA) announced a sanctioning procedure against the state-owned oil company Ecopetrol which operated the well. On March 3, the Lizama 158 well began leaking crude. The incident rapidly deteriorated when heavy machinery failed to tap the well. Conservationists say this is the worst environmental disaster that Colombia has witnessed in decades.
