China: 'No revisions' on Hong Kong law in government work report — State Council

The Chinese State Council held a press conference in Beijing on Friday to confirm that they have made numerous revisions to the government work report and that the report has been confirmed. Member of the government work report's drafting team Sun Guojon took questions from reporters and was instantly asked if any of the revisions regarded Hong Kong or Macau. «Regarding the question you just mentioned, recently, the relevant authoritative departments have already elaborated on this. The 3rd plenary meeting of 13th National People's Congress overwhelmingly adopted the relevant decisions. There is no revision in the Government Work Report regarding Hong Kong and Macao,» answered Sun Guojon. According to Sun Guojun, the 89 revisions focus upon people's livelihood, COVID-19 prevention and control as well as macro-policy. The member of the drafting team also commented on foreign investment market access and China's foreign policy in regards to economics. «This year, the negative list for foreign investment market access is being made and it will be published soon. The clauses in the list will be further reduced. In the service industry, manufacturing industry and agriculture, the openness will be further improved.»
