Russian Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev stated that Russian-Chinese relations «are at the highest point in years» with trade growing at 35 percent, speaking during online conference with Chinese Internet users in Beijing on Tuesday. Commenting on future cooperation between the two countries and how upcoming Russia elections, Medvedev went on to say that «relations in the recent years have reached... Еще such levels of development that they are free from the results of elections.» He expressed assurances that «these relations won't change they will be ascending, because both our countries are interested in them.» Dmitri Medvedev noted that Russia and China have close economic and ambitious investment projects despite all the economic upheavals of recent years. He stated that trade turnover between countries has increased significantly «if during the previous year we had a mutual trade turnover growth of around 4 percent, now our trade is growing by 35% in the recent 8 months of this year.» The Russian Prime Minister also mentioned that Chinese viewers will soon have a good opportunity to have a closer look at Russian culture as Katyusha, Russia’s first TV channel in China will soon broadcast. All programs will be in Russian language with Chinese subtitles. The broadcast is expected to start by the end of this year. The Russian Prime Minister began a two-day visit to China on Tuesday. The Prime Minister will meet with General Secretary of the Communist Party of China Xi Jinping to hold intergovernmental negotiations. On November 1, Medvedev and the Premier Li Keqiang will hold the 22nd regular meeting as heads of government of the two countries.
