China: Britain plans post-Brexit future with visit to Beijing

New British Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt made his first visit outside Europe since assuming office, when he met with his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi in Beijing on Monday. Speaking about a possible free trade deal between Britain and China post-Brexit, Hunt said it's «something that we welcome and said that we will explore.» «The rise of China and China's economy, and Chinese power can and... Еще must be a positive force in the world, and we want to work very hard to strengthen and deepen our relationship to make sure that's the case,» he added. «We agreed to create synergy in our development strategies, expand our trade and investment to each other with priority in areas of nuclear power, finance and innovation, and expand our co-operation in artificial intelligence, green energy, digital economy and other new industries,» responded Yi.
