China: Beijing to 'resolutely safeguard' Chinese companies following Huawei case

Chinese Ministry of Commerce spokesperson Gao Feng said Beijing would «resolutely safeguard» the rights of Chinese companies following the United States' imposition of restrictions on Huawei's ability to do business with US companies, during a press conference in Beijing on Thursday. «We resolutely oppose any country's unilateral sanctions against Chinese entities in accordance with its own... Еще domestic regulations. We also oppose the generalisation of the concept of national security and the abuse of export control measures,» Gao said. «China will take all necessary measures to resolutely safeguard the legal rights of Chinese companies.» «We urge the United States to stop its incorrect practices and create conditions for normal trade and cooperation between the two countries to avoid any further impact on China-US economic and trade relations,» Gao said. On Wednesday, US President Donald Trump signed an executive order preventing US firms from using foreign telecoms components deemed to pose national security risks. Meanwhile the US Commerce Department also said on Wednesday it was adding Chinese telecoms giant Huawei and 70 affiliates to its 'Entity List' — banning Huawei from buying such equipment from US companies without US government approval.
