Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Geng Shuang reacted to UK Foreign Secretary Jeremy Hunt's comments on Beijing's treatment of protesters in Hong Kong, which he described as «thoughtless» during a press conference in Beijing on Thursday.
Geng Shuang said that «Mr. Jeremy Hunt expressed his wrong views on the Hong Kong issue» and warned that «if someone still refuses to realise their errors... Еще and repeat the mistakes, I will not keep silent.»
The Foreign Ministry spokesperson also touched on relations with the US and said that both countries have «agreed to restart trade talks based on equality and mutual respect, during the G20 Summit in Osaka.»
«The US won't add tariffs on Chinese products. The teams from the two countries will talk about the specific economic and trade issues in detail,» he continued.
Geng Shuang also warned the US to abide by the One-China policy and three joint China-US communiques, as well as to halt military relations with Taiwan, «to avoid effecting China-US relations and peace in the Taiwan Strait.»
