Tech giant Apple has announced it closing all its 42 retail stores and other corporate locations in mainland China through February 9, as the number of novel coronavirus cases confirmed worldwide reaches 14,600 with 14,450 of those in China.
«Out of an abundance of caution and based on the latest advice from leading health experts, we're closing all our corporate offices, stores and contact... Еще centres in mainland China through February 9,» the company said in a statement on Saturday.
Apple has joined a growing list of big companies, including Ikea, McDonald's and KFC, in temporarily halting business in China amid the growing number of the deadly novel coronavirus cases.
The coronavirus outbreak began in the central city of Wuhan last December.
The newly discovered virus has since spread to 23 countries, including Germany, France, Finland Canada and the US, prompting the World Health Organisation (WHO) to declare a global health emergency.
