The third generation of the Sino-Russian dual-screen smartphone «Yota 3» was unveiled at the Russian embassy in Beijing, Wednesday.
Seen as a beacon of the Sino-Russia cooperation in science and technology, the gadget previously known as «Yotaphone» was the world's first dual-screen mobile phone with interactive and independently-operating screens. «YotaPhone» was created in Russia in 2012 and... Еще was purchased by China's Baoli in 2015, becoming known as Baoli Yota. The third generation of «Yotaphone», rebranded as «Yota», is now ready to be launched in the Chinese smartphone market.
Jointly developed by Baoli and the Russian corporation ROSTEC, the «Yota» smartphone is building its commercial strategy on the e-commerce market, and according to Baoli Yota representatives, is expected to become a benchmark product of the market.
During the unveiling ceremony, Baoli Yota announced a cooperation agreement with China-based market platforms JD and AISIDI. According to CEO of Baoli Yota, Frank Zhang, «Yota 3» will be launched in the Chinese market on the Jingdong e-commerce platform in September, and will enter the Russian market «at the end of 2017».
Russian Ambassador to China Andrei Denisov, who was present at the unveiling ceremony, noted that «Yota» is «one of the practical elements of the Sino-Russian cooperation».
