China: 18 killed, one million evacuated as Typhoon Lekima hits east coast China

At least 18 people have been killed in a landslide and one million forced to leave their homes as Typhoon Lekima hit the east coast of China on Friday, footage filmed on Saturday shows the tropical storm battering Shanghai. On Friday morning, China’s National Meteorological Center issued a red typhoon alert for coastal areas of Zhejiang province, leading to one million people being evacuated... Typhoon Lekima hit Shanghai early on Saturday morning, causing major flooding and forcing 250,000 residents to be evacuated. Flood warnings have reportedly been issued for eastern sections of China's Yangtze River and the Yellow River until Wednesday. The provinces of Jiangsu and Shandong are also on alert.
