The National Emergency Office (ONEMI) presented an earthquake simulator truck in Santiago on Friday. Donated by the Embassy of Japan, the truck simulates earthquakes of different magnitudes and is designed to raise awareness among communities most at risk. The truck’s interior resembles the living room of an ordinary house, and when switched on, it simulates the movement and magnitude of some... Еще of the country's biggest seismic shocks. «This simulator comes loaded with the last seven major earthquakes that have occurred in Chile in order to associate historical memory with education, culture and the measures of preparation that must be taken during the event and after the event,» said ONEMI director Ricardo Toro. The truck will soon depart for a tour across Chile in a bid to educate the country's population on earthquakes and seismic hazards.
