Santiago's main cemetery has been digging thousands of graves as the numbers of COVID-19 cases went up in the country.
The complex also cleared hundreds of unclaimed graves to prepare space if the fatalities increase, as footage filmed on Friday shows.
«We have rebuilt graves that expired, which are temporary graves. And we have rehabilitated them so that they can be used again. It is... Еще something that we usually do. But this time we have made it with a little bit more speed hoping that they do not have to be used,» said General Cemetery director Rashid Saud.
With over 2,500 new infections registered daily in the last couple of days, Chile imposed a total lockdown in the capital.
