Passengers from an Australis cruise line vessel were finally given permission to disembark their ship in Punta Arenas, southern Chile, after two weeks of being quarantined due to coronavirus fears.
Footage shows the passengers arriving at the airport where they underwent health screenings and were issued clean bills of health by the regional health authorities.
«The foreigners who are... Еще disembarking today are going to leave in a group of four buses and go directly to the airport. They are controlled at this stage by The Regional Ministerial Secretariats of Health (SEREMI) personnel, who will take their temperature and issue health certificates to be taken directly to their final destination,» said the local maritime governor.
Chile has registered 537 cases of the illness, one of the highest in totals in Latin America, and registered its first death from COVID-19 on Saturday.
The Chilean government declared a state of emergency on Thursday, with schools and non-essential businesses ordered to close.
