Members of group 'Colla Vella dels Xiquets de Valls' took the title, leaving behind the other 31 teams participating in this year's... Еще event. According to the organisers, the winners will be awarded 16,000 euros ($18,400) in prize money. «It's been 18 years since our last win. I was twelve the last time we won the competition,» said one of the champion's team members after the event. The tradition of forming human towers called «castells» dates back to the 18th century and is registered on UNESCO's list of the intangible cultural heritage of humanity. The competition takes place in Catalonia every two years, with teams competing to build the tallest and most complex towers.
