Canada: Five arrested as Montreal May Day demo sparks violence

Clashes broke out between police and protesters during May Day marches in Montreal on Tuesday, with at least five people arrested as a result. The scuffles happened briefly at the corner of Dorchester Square Street and Metcalfe Street when around 200 anti-capitalist protesters set off fireworks and the police fired a volley of tear gas at them, local media reports.
