Bulgaria: President demands ‘clear and irrefutable’ evidence of Russian involvement in Skripal poisoning

Bulgarian President Rumen Radev said there must be «clear and irrefutable» evidence of Russian involvement in the poisoning of Sergei Skripal if his government — like many other EU countries — were to expel Russia diplomats, at a press conference in Sofia on Wednesday. «Let's not forget that Bulgaria is currently President of the Council of the European Union and as such, it must conduct a... Еще policy of dialogue and balance», said Radev, preaching caution and 'transparency' in the investigation. On Friday, Bulgarian Prime Minister Boyko Borissov said the government would wait for more evidence in the Skripal case before expelling Russian diplomats. Former Russian spy Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia were poisoned in the beginning of March in Salisbury. The UK has blamed Moscow for the incident, while Russia has denied any involvement in the affair. MANDATORY CREDIT: Bulgarian Government.
