Bulgaria: Khashoggi murder 'horrendous' but Saudi stability should be maintained — Netanyahu

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu argued that while the killing of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi at the Saudi consulate in Istanbul was «horrendous,» stability in Saudi Arabia is vital to global security. He made the statement during the Craiova Forum held alongside Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and his Greek and Romanian counterparts Alexis Tsipras and Viorica Dancila in Varna on... Еще Friday. Netanyahu said, «What happened in the Istanbul consulate was horrendous, and it should be duly dealt with. Yet at the same time I say that it is very important for the stability of the world, of the region and of the world, that Saudi Arabia remains stable.» The Israeli prime minister stressed that «the larger problem is Iran.» He went on to say that blocking Iran is imperative for the security of Europe, noting that Israel helped foil two alleged «terrorist attacks» in Paris and Copenhagen, which he claimed were organised by the Iranian secret service. Netanyahu attended the Craiova Forum summit as the guest of honour — the first foreign leader to have done so. Mandatory credit: GPO Pool
