The southern Pantal wetlands region has been affected by wildfires as seen in images filmed on the outskirts of the Brazilian city of Corumba in Mato Grosso do Sul on Sunday. The blaze continues to rage in one of the most biodiverse areas in the world, devastating huge areas of the terrain.
Aerial footage filmed in the Brazilian southern state shows large areas of the wetlands ablaze and huge... Еще clouds of smoke billowing from the fires.
According to media reports, more than 50,000 hectares (around 125,000 acres) are believed to have been affected since the fires started on October 25.
The fires in the Brazilian Pantanal region, which has seen the worst record of blazes since 2007, come after thousands of wildfires ravaged the Amazon rainforest earlier in the year, provoking an international outcry against the Brazilian government environmental policies.
