Brazil: Thousands of protesters turn out for Independence Day in Sao Paulo

Thousands of protesters in the Brazilian city of Sao Paulo lined the streets as the country celebrated its independence day, Thursday. The protesters spoke out against President Michel Temer's policy of austerity, as well as in favour of extending democratic rights. «Every day this government is attacking us, taking out money from health, education and housing with their speeches about a... Еще recession, but we can see the amounts of money they use in corruption, paying senators and congressman, judges,» said Hugo Fanton of the Central Popular Movement. «It's an attack to our rights, and that's what we are fighting for, and screaming in the streets for the excluded ones in our democracy,» he added.
