Protesters rallied down Sao Paolo’s Paulista Avenue on Wednesday in protest against Brazilian President Michel Temer, after Congress dismissed corruption allegations that would force him to face trial. Demonstrators chanted ‘Out Temer’ as they waved signs and banners decrying the incumbent President’s name, and demanded he step down from office. The corruption charges against Temer included... Еще allegations that he had taken bribes from the Brazilian meatpacker JBS, and have frozen his reform agenda for more than six months. The dismissal of the charges leaves the road open for him to implement austerity reforms. Congress rejected the charges of obstruction of justice and leading a criminal organisation with 251 votes in support of Temer to 233 against him, that were filed by federal prosecutors who wanted Temer to face trial in the Supreme Court. Temer denies wrongdoing.
