A nurse at the University Hospital of Sao Paulo shared her worries about the chances of her family to get the coronavirus and talked about her efforts and struggles to minimise the risk of infecting them with the disease, Saturday.
Fabiana Soria do Nascimento, who works in the neonatal care unit, said, «There is so much concern, I worry a lot about my family, my husband is a person at risk, he... Еще has diabetes and hypertension. I have two children and I can't isolate them.»
She added that she tried to do everything she could to not get them infected, adding that children were not immune to the virus.
«My reason to worry is [the possibility of] giving it to them, that scares me a lot. It's not what people think with kids, they are not immune. Many studies are showing up especially in Europe with symptoms like Kawasaki syndrome and allergies like conjunctivitis and it's very complicated,» stressed Nascimento.
She also commented on the lack of the Personal Protection Equipment, saying that a mask that is efficient just «for two hours» is expected to be used during a 12-hour shift.
Brazil, which is considered to be the new epicentre of the pandemic in South America, has recorded over 233,140 cases of the coronavirus since the outbreak began and over 15,660 fatalities related to the virus, according to Johns Hopkins University.
