Vinicius Ramalho, a Brazilian doctor working with coronavirus patients, talked about the challenges that he and his family face during the outbreak, Rio de Janeiro, Sunday.
«As much as I have no comorbidity, no matter how much I am not a risk group, this is a new disease, nobody knows,» Ramalho explained.
«I have seen people without any comorbidity. Athletic people, strong people, people in... Еще good health, but who suffer from this disease, progressing to major complications,» added the doctor.
He said that despite being afraid, «it is our duty, it is our ethics and our oath was to face any disease and be able to help in some way that makes everyone very proud.»
«On Mother's Day, I couldn't hug my mother,» Ramalho said, adding that he had to see her from a balcony, the same as his mother-in-law.
As of Sunday, Brazil has registered 241,080 coronavirus cases and 16,118 fatalities, according to data compiled by Johns Hopkins University shows.
