Brazil: At least 14 killed in military crackdown on Rio de Janeiro drug gangs

At least 14 people were killed during operations carried out by Brazil's military and armed police on drug gangs in two favelas and a suburb of Rio de Janeiro, Monday. Some 4,000 soldiers reportedly raided the Mare and Alemao favela complexes, which are believed to be largely run by drug traffickers. At least eight people died eight people in the raid on favelas.
