Brazil: Arrests and scuffles in Sao Paulo at demo against 'gay conversion therapy'

Thousands of protesters took to the streets of central Sao Paulo, Friday, to decry a Brazilian judge's decision to overturn the nearly 20-year-long ban on «gay conversion therapy.» The streets of the metropolis were swarmed with LGBTI demonstrators wrapped in Rainbow flags, carrying placards reading «Love is not the disease, it's the cure!» and «Love without fear/Temer», in reference to... Еще Brazilian President Michel Temer. Scuffles erupted between protesters and police leading to the arrest of two people. Earlier in the week, federal judge in the capital of Brasilia Waldemar de Carvalho overruled a decision taken by the Federal Council of Psychology in 1999 that prohibited licensed psychologists to offer therapeutic treatments able to «convert» patients identifying as LGBTI.
