Bosnia and Herzegovina: Sarajevo camp overcrowded amid migrant arrivals spike

Footage filmed on Tuesday shows an overcrowded makeshift camp in central Sarajevo, amid a recent spike in arrivals of migrants and refugees in the country seeking passage into Western Europe. According to estimates of local authorities, over 100 refugees and migrants cross Bosnia and Herzegovina daily in a bid to reach Western Europe, via Croatia. Around 4,000 migrants and refugees from Syria... Еще, Afghanistan, Iraq and Algeria have reportedly entered Bosnia this year, which is a four-fold increase compared to with 755 in 2017. More than a million migrants arrived in Europe in 2015. Following the closure of the Balkan route in 2016, migrants have turned to Bosnia in recent months, seeking to enter EU member state Croatia and then continue their journeys to other European countries. Many migrants and refugees, stranded in Serbia since last year, have also started crossing Bosnia.
