Bosnia and Herzegovina: Croatian PM visits Mostar to ease tensions

Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenkovic arrived in Mostar on Monday night in a bid to ease tensions between Bosnian Muslims and Croats. The fear of turmoil between the two groups comes after six former Bosnian Croat leaders were convicted of war crimes at the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) and the suicide of Slobodan Praljak who drank poison at the court... Еще. Along with several other officials, Plenkovic and Leader of the Croatian Democratic Union of Bosnia and Herzegovina (HDZ BiH) party Dragan Covic laid a wreath and candles in one of Mostar's squares to pay tribute to Croatian veterans of the war. Speaking to the press, Plenkovic said: «Croatia stands together with Bosnia and Herzegovina and together with Croats in Bosnia and Herzegovina.» He then added: «We will do everything in our power to ensure that Croats stay equal amongst Bosnian nations, and that their equality is respected.»
