Thousands of Bolivians rallied to commemorate the Day of Democratic and Cultural Revolution and the 12th anniversary of the election of President Evo Morales in La Paz. The anniversary commemorates Evo Morales’ rise to power 12 years ago as the country’s first indigenous president. Morales told the audience “from the streets and roads, with marches and blockades we liberate the homeland. Now... Еще we have a new homeland, a new dignified and sovereign Bolivia. That is why sisters and brothers greet you in this great concentration that is the guarantee for our revolution. Sisters and brothers to finish, help me to say, long live Bolivia! Fatherland or death, we will win!» Morales is seeking to run for a fourth consecutive term despite a referendum to constitutional amendments being rejected by the majority of Bolivians in February.
