The Bolivian Senate unanimously approved a new bill which allows a fresh general election in a vote in La Paz on Saturday. The Exceptional and Transitional Regime Bill will now have to be passed by the lower house.
”The general elections held on October 20, 2019 and their results are hereby annulled. Secondly, new general elections are to be held to elect the President, the Vice President... Еще, senators, deputies and representatives to national parliamentary bodies for the 2020-2025 constitutional term,” said Omar Aguilar, the First Secretary of the Bolivian Senate.
The bill prohibits former President Evo Morales who fled to Mexico from taking part in the new election.
