BLM rallies in support of Pedro Hernandez in NYC: Stop incriminating our kids

A rally in front of District Attorney’s office in Bronx was held to protest against police brutality in New York City, Thursday, with demonstrators hitting out against ‘bounty hunting’ policing and corruption in the New York Police Department (NYPD). «I need them to stop incriminating our kids and to stop falsifying evidence against them,» said activist Melissa Watson, adding, «We need to stand... Еще up for our kids, always.» Former police detective Derick Waller, spotted in the crowd of protesters, pointed to institutional corruption and aggressive policing policy, stating «Everybody say they want change, it's so easy for the police department to change, all they have to do is retrain the new officers. It's so simple, retrain them, because their training now is as bounty hunters.” The rally was also a solidarity drive for Pedro Hernandez, who was arrested in 2015 on attempted murder charges, with information later emerging that testimonies against the teenager may have been falsified. The 17-year-old was released from correctional facility on July 27 after being detained for 13 months.
