The first line of the Turkish Stream gas pipeline crossed into the Turkish exclusive economic zone in the Black Sea, footage released on Saturday shows. To mark the occurrence Pioneering Spirit, the world’s largest cable laying vessel, laid pipe sections marked with Russian and Turkish flags. The vessel will continue on to the Turkish Black Sea town of Kiyikoy. The Turkish Stream project... Еще replaces the South Stream project which was due to run through Bulgaria but was abandoned in 2014 following the introduction of European sanctions against Russia. The entire cost of this project has been estimated at $6 billion (€5.2bn) and gas is expected to start flowing in December 2019.
