Thousands of protesters marched through the streets of Brussels on Sunday, as part of an ongoing series of demonstrations calling for greater action to combat climate change.
Some of the demonstrators dressed in haz-mat suits to scrub the steps of Brussels' Finance Tower with soapy water, while others marched holding banners and placards, calling for measures against climate change.
Police... Еще estimated that some 15,000 people took part in the demonstration, while the organisers said that the figure was slightly higher at 17,000.
On March 29, the Belgian Parliament voted down an amendment that would allow the passage of a proposed climate law. The change would have forced the Belgian government to adhere to commitments made under the United Nations Framework on Climate Change.
